[Magnus Number Cruncher]
Valiant used to be the single imprint of Valiant Comics that was
owned by Voyager Publishing Inc. It is now one of several imprints
published by Acclaim Comics Inc.:
- Valiant
- The Valiant Universe
- Windjammer
- Creator-owned material. Seems no longer to be active.
- Armada
- Started with licenced material such as Magic the Gathering, Killer
Instinct, Baywatch and Doom Trooper.
Now also publishes Acclaim material outside Valiant such as Bad Eggs, which
were intended for Dime.
- Dime
- Never got started. Acclaim-owned material outside the Valiant universe.
Discussions about Acclaim comics and the worlds presented in their
comics can be found at the very hub of all Valiant related pages:
XXXX XXXXX's Valiant Visions.

him and respect him as a person. He will be missed. Seaborn Adamson who passed away January 29, 1996.

- I very highly recommend checking out the Valiant Fan Club and Acclaim
Ink. They are zines, and can now also be found as a very beautiful web site.
Joe has also put up his original Valiant art collection for display.
You can also go straight to the
Valiant Fan Club and there is also some nice reading on
a purely experimental
page that Joe made earlier.

- Magnus Robot Fighter
- The Magnus of comics.
- Dr. Will Magnus
- From DC. Creator of the Metal-men. Magnus Robot Creator? Once
refered to as a robot himself.
- Erik Magnus Lehnsherr
- From Marvel. The great Magneto. For a period only calling himself
Magnus. The deadliest of all Mutants. During Amalgam, DC's and Marvel's
Magnuses will be brothers.
- Charlemagne
- From Defiant. French name for Carolus Magnus or Charles the Great.
Mystically strong character. Champion of Life.
Please don't take this list too seriously. Most of the items are nit-picks and
it's all just my personal opinions. Actually this is rather a list of
things that can be discussed.
- Physics of the Valiant Universe
- Creation of Lost Land
- Chaos Effect Omega. Geoff is taken to the creation of Lost Land. Despite
already having been there he makes some rather cryptical statements. It is
also weird that Geoff, Archer & Armstrong spend all these years in Lost Land
before Unity and then do nothing to help themselves in the fighting.
- The Real World
- King Khalid Airport
- Eternal Warrior 20. The portrayal of the women at King Khalid
International Airport in Riyadh is extremely unrealistic.
- Groznia
- Eternal Warrior 41. Why not call it by its real name?
- Buying Estonia
- The idea of Estonia selling out after finally getting their freedom
from the USSR is preposterous - and one boat-load of gold is not worth
that much (okay, I wouldn't mind it, but compare it to the aid Estonia is
receiving from all around the world). HARD Corps ??
- Non existing mountain?
- Ninjak ?? Bergafjallet means Mountainmountain. Does that really exist?
- Going to Tibet
- Ladakh is in India.
- Unified Yemen
- Ninjak ?? takes place at the British embassy in Aden, but since the
unification (the threat to which this issue was about), the embassy was
in Sanaa. I guess the previous embassy in Aden had become a consulate?
- Continuity errors and out-of-character mistakes
- Spider Aliens not respecting forest
- HARD Corps 7. The spider aliens are killing lots of trees when they could
have fought the H.A.R.D.Corps in other ways.
- Freewills well known too early
- In Magnus 20 freewills are well known and in Vintage Magnus 1 and
even Magnus 1 that take place later they are not as well known.
- Immortal Enemy
- The Immortal Enemy's method for moving from body to body has changed
back and forth over history.
- Nettie retcon
- In Shadowman 0 and other places it is claimed that Master Darque was
aware that Jack was to receive the spirit, but in Shadowman 7 & 8 he learned
about Jack for the first time. In Shadowman 0 Master Darque also uses fire
much too early but that can be explained as a mistelling by Armstrong.
- Aric and German
- In X-O 1 Aric recognices modern German as related to his language, but
in X-O 41 he doesn't recognice it at all.
- Penguins
- Little known facts 1 claimed that Solar had killed of most penguins,
but in X-O 18 it is said that the crater is only 168 km and in the middle
of Antarctica. Either the impact on the penguin population must have been
insignificant or the stated size is severely underestimated (or both).
- X-O 48
- This whole issue is a blunder.
- Typos and other simple mistakes
- Spike-glove
- In Eternal Warrior 45 his glove is shown on the left hand once.
- Flamingo or Faith?
- Harbinger 9 & Magnus 16. The same scene is colored differently in
these two comics so that Flamingo and Faith trade places.
- Mac or Mack
- Timewalker 1. Mac is spelled Mack.
- Wrong capture
- A capture box at the end of Timewalker 2 says it's 1998, but it's 2033.
- Mirror image not reversed
- Timewalker 14. Mirror image in beer glass is not reversed.
- In Magnus 44, Armstrong refers to Volvo.
- Ninjak 11 starts in Sweden.
- In Ninjak 15? the Sweden-manufactured Carl Gustav is used.
- The Spider Aliens had a base in Halmstad.
- There is also a reference to Dannemora in Turok. I assume that
refers to Dannemora in USA, but it sounds as if both places are equally funny.
- In Turok 13 Captain Red refers to a Swedish gull.
- In an early X-O Manowar, Ken thinks that Visigoths are from Sweden.
To be implemented... (sorry, please come back later). This section will
cover things like placing the names of artists and Acclaim staff in the
comics or funny references like the following two master-pieces:
- In Magnus 25 it is indicated the Magnus' mysteriously white boots
(originally due to a misunderstanding between XXXX
XXXXXXX and an unknown colorist) could be inspired by XXXXX XXXXXXX's
white boots when singing "These boots are made for walking". (XXXX XXXXXXXXX)
- In Rai and the Future Force ?? the religious order nicknamed the Archies
have mixed up their mantras with a song by the Archies. (XXXX XXXXXX)
